Bengaluru. April 8.

Nobody can stop Karnataka’s progress. Karnataka would continue to march on its path of progress unaffected by adverse campaigns. Action would be taken in this regard, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

Responding to tweets by ministers of some of the neighboring states on Bengaluru’s infrastructure woes, Bommai said, “Tamil Nadu and Telangana States have turned desperate.”

Bengaluru & Karnataka cannot be compared to any State

“Karnataka and Bengaluru cannot be compared to any other State. These States are making efforts for development now. We are far ahead of them. Their campaign is not in good taste. Investments should be attracted by showcasing the good things in their states. There is no need to deride other States. We never ask those who have invested in Telangana and Tamil Nadu to move in here. That is our strength,” Bommai said.

The move by these states shows that no one is willing to invest there. It is their necessity. International investors are coming to our State continuously. Karnataka has drawn the highest Foreign Direct Investments in the last three quarters of the year. Startups have notched business of $2.24 billion in the same period. Investors are coming here on the strength of our talented human resources and conducive ecosystem, Bommai said.

Improvement of roads

Reacting to a tweet by Mohandas Pai about the condition of roads in Bengaluru, Bommai said, work is on to fix the roads in the city. There were problems during the monsoon season. But now the roads are being improved. You will see further improvement in the coming days. I will personally speak to Pai on this issue. Funds have been released to the BBMP under the Nagarothana Yojane. Roads in the city would be improved in a big way, Bommai said.

Responding to Leader of the Opposition Siddaramaiah’s tweet against imposition of Hindi by the Union government, Bommai said, “one does not know when and what enlightenment Siddaramaiah gets.”
